DID YOU KNOW...
Birmingham was one of the last major cities in England to receive city status, only being fully incorporated in 1889. The city has had a long history of seeking devolution from Westminster, most notably by Thomas Attwood and his founding of the Birmingham Political Union. With devolution of the United Kingdom regions now being seriously considered, the city once again finds itself at the centre of political reforms.
